1 Welcome incoming students!
Our group meetings are every 2 weeks at 10 AM (both virtual and in person in Tech K144). Upcoming dates for Fall 2024: Dec 3, Dec 10, Dec 17.

Feel free to email any students to talk about what it’s like in our group or get links for upcoming events! Emails can be found on the Members page.

The Schaller Group uses ultrafast, time-resolved optical spectroscopy to research the optical properties of and dynamic processes in novel nanomaterials with energy-relevant applications. We are associated with the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University, as well as the Center for Nanoscale Materials at Argonne National Laboratory. We collaborate extensively with synthetic and theoretical groups at Northwestern University, Argonne National Laboratory, and elsewhere.

On Dec. 12, 2018, the Schaller, Talapin and Rabani groups hosted an open-to-the-public research event at Northwestern that focused on fundamentals, promise, challenges, and latest developments in nanoplatelet research spanning theoretical, synthetic, characterization, and properties aspects.
